Yes and No. The simpler issues like tightening bolts and applying lubrication is okay. But, even in this “YouTube DIY” age where information is at your fingertips, for the more complex repairs (especially with anything electrical), FitTech recommends that a factory-trained, experienced, and insured technician handle the repair.
Depending on the age of the equipment, the manufacturer and the extent of the repair needed, parts may or may not be available. Also, if parts are available and the equipment can be fixed doesn’t necessarily mean you should fix it. A good rule of thumb is that if the estimate for repairs is more than 50% of the value of the equipment, you should replace it.
Wipe down equipment after each use to prevent sweat and dirt buildup. Remember, sweat is corrosive and dust can cause your equipment to run rough. More thorough cleaning like vacuuming under equipment and cleaning higher contact areas should be done weekly.
No. We strictly do on-site repairs.
Yes. If your equipment is out of warranty, FitTech offers a 30-day warranty on repair completed.
Once a service call is scheduled, a tech (technician) shows up on the date and within the time window provided (residential) or on the day (commercial). He/she will inspect and test the equipment to confirm complaint reported, as well as inform customer as to any additional issues found. If the tech determines the issue can be resolved on site during current visit, he/she will let the customer know and inform them of any additional charges (if necessary). -
If additional parts or labor are required to complete the repair, the tech will provide you with a price quote before proceeding. - While FitTech will make every attempt to have parts on hand for repair ahead of time, it is not guaranteed. If parts and a return trip are required to make the repair, the tech will provide a quote and an approximate lead time for the parts to arrive. FitTech will communicate any unforeseen delays or other issues with customer via phone call, text and/or email. When the parts arrive, FitTech will contact and schedule the completion of repair to get your fitness equipment back up and running in the most timely and efficient way possible.
